configuration for Linux

This tutorial describes how to configure eduroam on devices running Linux operating systems. A step-by-step guide is available below.

NOTE: Presented tool was tested on machines running Ubuntu operating system, but it should work also for other linux distributions.

 

Step-by-step guide to eduroam configuration on Linux

1. Download your IHEP eduroam root certificate from the IHEP eduroam CA website (link is external):

  1. Choose "Download the IHEP eduroam Root Certification" link from EduRoam section
  2. Click the right mouse button and Selcet Save Link as..
  3. Click Save button

 

2. Download your personal eduroam certificate from the IHEP eduroam CA website (link is external):

  1. Choose "New eduroam Certificate" link
  2. Click the right mouse button and Selcet Save Link as..
  3. Click Save button

 

 

3. Download your eduroam key file from the IHEP eduroam CA website (link is external):

  1. Choose "New eduroam Key" link
  2. Click the right mouse button and Selcet Save Link as..
  3. Click Save button

 

 

4. Configure to eduroam Wi-Fi network

Choose Edit Connection option in Network menu

Make sure that eduroam is not configured on your machine.

  1. If there is an eduroam profile in Wi-Fi section delete it

Connect to eduroam wifi.

  1. Choose "TLS" for Authentication
  2. Choose client.crt file as User certificate
  3. Choose ca.pem file as CA certificate
  4. Choose client.key file as Private key
  5. The private key password is ruijie
