Troubleshooting

This tutorial describes the troubleshooting for configure eduroam on MAC OS.

Possible problems:

In case of connection error, user shall check his 802.1X profiles. If there are some profiles containing information about the eduroam radius server authentication from past connection, they should be deleted. Instruction how to do this is presented in table below.

Turn off Wi-Fi. Then, choose the “Open Network Preferences” button in the wireless menu (top-right part of the screen).
Choose Wi-Fi connection from the left side list and go to advanced section pressing “Advanced…” button.
In the “Advanced” window go to the 802.1X section. In case of some profiles are present there and “Trusted Certificate” field contains value different form IHEP Root CA, go to point next point. Otherwise described problem does not concern you.
In case finding incorrect profile. Use command line and change the name of your 802.1X profiles file to disable them. You can do it with command presented in neighbour cell. Than restart your MAC and follow the standard instruction. Sudo mv /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist.good
